Thank you for celebrating with us.
Jesse has had a lifetime of public service. Before holding elected office, he served our country as a paratrooper in the United States Army's 101st Airborne Division, Army Reserves and served as a member of the Illinois National Guard. He served as the Cook County Recorder of Deeds and was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives before stepping into his position as Illinois Secretary of State in 1999. He also worked for over 30 years in the Chicago public school system as a teacher and administrator.
In 1959, he founded the Jesse White Tumbling Team, a program committed to providing a positive alternative for inner-city kids. The team gives more than 1,500 performances each year across the US and around the world. Though Jesse is retiring from state government, he plans to stay on as a coach and mentor for the Tumblers. All proceeds from the December 14 event will benefit the Jesse White Foundation's programs, including support for the Jesse White Tumbling Team, college scholarships, tutoring, college tours, holiday food distribution, school supplies, an annual job fair, and more.
We are sincerely thankful for your support.
